The 11th International Workshop on Modeling of Mantle Convection and Lithospheric Dynamics
held in Braunwald (Switzerland) from June 28 to July 3 2009.

Local organizing committee (ETH Zurich):
Paul Tackley (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics)
Marina Armann (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics)
Lapo Boschi (Seismology & Geodynamics)
Frédéric Deschamps (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Seismology & Geodynamics)
Yolanda Deubelbeiss (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics, Mineralogy & Petrology)
Taras Gerya (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics)
Boris Kaus (Geophysical Fluid Dynamics)
Stefan Schmalholz (Structural Geology & Tectonics)
The workshop is now over. It attracted 120 participants who discussed the differentiation of terrestrial planets, the evolution of Earth and planetary mantles, new seismological constraints on the deep mantle, the origin and consequences of chemical heterogeneities in the mantle, modelling of lithospheric dynamics, plate tectonics, transform faults and subduction zones, two-phase flow modelling, and recent advances in numerical tools. You can still see details
on the program and download keynotes lectures here.
The next International Workshop on Modeling of Mantle Convection and Lithospheric Dynamics
will be organized by Stefan Sobolev in Germany.
