DOWNLOAD THERMO-CHEMICAL MODELS

Fortran routines to read binary model and Matlab scripts to plot and analyze the models will be also downloaded

Models are in a regular 5X5 grid and have 57 layers (50km to 2850km, each 50km ). If you want high-resolution models (2X2 grid and 289 layers, i.e. from 10km to 2890km, each 10km, CLICK HERE).

HOW TO PLOT MODELS WITH MATLAB

1. download T-C models in matlab format
2. set path of ROUTINES directory (plus subs) in your MATLAB version
3. go in the models directory and type plot_tc_model in MATLAB. You will be asked for several plotting options.
4. if you need, use shell scripts call_binarysave.s and call_asciisave.s to convert matlab formatted files into binary or ascii respectively.

HOW TO USE BINARY MODELS

1. download T-C models in binary format
2. compile read_model.f90 in ROUTINES/FOR_SCRIPTS
3. use script call_readbinary.s to extract a value at give lat, lon, depth
N.B. see README_ROUTINES if you experience problems reading the binary format
