How to reach us:
Reach Locarno.
The closest international airports are: Lugano (1h by train from Locarno), Milano Malpensa (2h30 by train), Zurich (a 3h30 train ride but very nice landscapes).
In order to reach the Monte Verità Centre in Ascona, whether you fly or travel by train from within Europe, you must first get to Locarno, the closest railway station to Ascona. Visit the National Railway's website (SBB), insert the starting station and the arrival station (TO: Locarno) to get all the informations about the possible connections.
From Locarno to Monte Verità
Once in Locarno, you can reach Monte Verità as follows:
Special shuttle bus
There will be a shuttle bus from Locarno station to the conference
centre on Sunday afternoon. There is a labelled bus stop
for this. It has 11 seats and is available on a first
come, first served basis. Approximate times are 14:30,
15:10, 15:50, 16:30, 17:10, 17:50. If needed we will also
run an ETH minibus, with a last pickup at 18:30.
Public bus
Bus Nr. 1 from Locarno railway station to Ascona (stop Ascona Posta) and then Bus Nr. 5 ("Buxi") from Ascona to Monte Verità.
Duration: 15-20 minutes for Line Nr 1. + 8 minutes for Line Nr. 5. Cost: 2.20 CHF for one way ticket from Locarno to Ascona + 2.00 CHF for a one way ticket of the Buxi from Ascona to Monte Verità
Schedules: Line Nr. 1 and Line Nr. 5.
Taxi
There are several taxis available at Locarno railway
station. A typical cost is 30-35 CHF to Monte
Verità, duration approximately 15 minutes.
